2019 XMF Leadership Award Recognizes 2 College and 6 High School Student Leaders in Community Service

XING Memorial Fund (XMF) today announced the recipients for 2019 XING Leadership Award. XING Leadership Award was launched in 2017 to promote leadership development in the Chinese Community. It focuses on servant leadership, character building and civic engagement. The application was designed to evaluate applicants’ community/social awareness as well as leadership attributes, such as responsibility, risk taking, resilience, reflectiveness and team work. This year’s candidates have shown their initiatives to research, develop, and implement community service projects. The recipients are:

1, College Category:

XING Leaders Award(奖金 $500

  • Iris Zhou, University of Pennsylvania
  • Mona Dai, Tsinghua University

2, High School Category:

XING Leaders Award奖金 $250

  • Sophia Lu, Henry M. Gunn Senior High School
  • Rayan Yu, James Madison High School
  • Elizabeth Huang, Syosset High School
  • Max Zhang, Stanton College Preparatory School

XING Developing Leaders Award奖金 $100

  • Alan Huang, Syosset High School
  • Sirui (Iris) Xue, Montgomery Blair High School

Since implementation, this program has attracted strong support from the PKU alumni community. This year's Scoring Committee consists of : Dongfeng Wu (86 Statistics) of Louisville KY, Jack Ji (86 Mathematics) of Dallas TX, Richard Wang (Cornell 2017) and Yuxiao Meng (Smith College 2019). XMF greatly appreciates all applicants for their participation, the Scoring Committee for their dedication to serve, as well as the donors who make this project possible. This program has proven to be meaningful in cross generation communication and in strengthening the community at large.
